To drive 5x3″ posts, a pilot hole must first be drilled into the ground. A 2″ pilot hole is the recommended size. If the ground is very hard or dry, fill the pilot hole with water and allow it to soak before driving the posts into the ground.
Our Pilot Core Tool can be used to make a pilot hole or alternatively a ground auger.

Inner diameter of 131x81mm. This adapter is suitable for driving 5×3″ rectangular posts.
easy to install
Use a 6mm hex key to unscrew the 8 bolts and lock washers. Slide the current tube out of the base of the nailer. Slide the new adapter into place and secure with the same bolts and washers. Remember to use a locking compound on the screw threads to prevent them from chattering.
What adapters do I need?
For the most effective use of the nailer, the size of the adapter should fit your studs perfectly. We recommend that the adapter be no more than 5-10mm larger than your post. For profiled posts; squares/T-shapes, etc., outside corners must be within this capacity.
